Come and see what you could get up to at the Community Centre with an afternoon of displays and demonstrations. Activities for all the family.

Food tasting samplers from our Meals on Wheels and Lunch Club and the bar will be open for refreshments

The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Beacons

16.00 - 22.30

An evening of celebrations for all the family to mark the Queens Diamond Jubilee, culminating in the lighting of our own Jubilee Beacon. Live music, fairground refreshments and stalls.

St Albans

Day Walk

18.30 (new owners of Pastoral Centre permitting)

Meet on the Village Green, in front of the Green Dragon Pub and join us for a walk through the Broad Colney Nature Reserve and the Grounds of the forma Pastoral Centre, to what would have been the Island in the River Colney where St Alban is reputed to have been captured by the Romans. A potted history is read out and then we walk back to the Community Centre for free refreshments.

18.00 – 19.00 No entrance fee, bucket donations to support local groups.

Local Schools, Churches and groups come together to run this spectacular event of Fireworks, music, fairground rides and refreshments. Whitehorse Lane will be closed to traffic for this event.   .

The general public start to gather at the War Memorial in the High Street at 10.30am The groups marching from the Community Centre will be the Royal British Legion, Parish Councillors, local Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, Guides, Brownies and Rainbows. They march round to the Memorial at 10.50am. A short service will be read and collation taken for the Poppy Appeal. The High Street from the junction of Haseldine Road to St Anne’s Road will be closed by the police during the marching and service.

Christmas Lights

Come and join us on Chester Gibbons Green by the Millennium Clock and help members from the cast of our local pantomime turn on the Christmas Lights in the High Street and the big Christmas Tree. The Children from the 3 local primary Schools will be singing carols and the Brownies and Guides will serve refreshments in the Parish Hall across the High Street.

Everyone is welcome to come and join us when we perform in the front hall at Sainsbury’s London Colney. We have a bucket collection for local groups, last year we collect for the 3 local schools and the London Colney Youth Project and collected £234.
