    Thank you so much to everyone who supported our Village Day event, it was wonderful to see so many people come out and enjoy a day in the sunshine with their friends and families, the atmosphere was brilliant thanks to you!

    The purpose was to bring the local community together for a summer event after a few years without one, and with lots of different elements to the day; community groups, local business stalls, food, mobile bars, live music, local dance group, splash park, mini fair, park and so on, we felt it would give us a good gauge for the direction our future summer events could go in.

    We’d like to publicly thank our wonderful community groups who volunteered their time, our local councillors, and all of our stall holders for coming along, as well as local businesses who provided our entertainment and infrastructure. Lastly thank you to our small but mighty team for working so hard to serve the community, we are very proud of our first Village Day and know with the feedback received we can do even better at future events, so we hope to see you come along and support the remaining events for 2025 and beyond. ‘It takes a village’ to create a community and we rely on you to help and support us in creating a sense of community and making London Colney a lovely place to live and work.

Who is responsible for your local services?

Welcome to London Colney, one of the biggest villages in Britain with a population of nearly 10,000 residents. London Colney has a lively and cosmopolitan community, with many groups and activities adding to the richness of village life.

At one time the High Street was one of the main routes to London and its abundance of inns were a popular stopover with coach travellers to and from the Capital. It has an interesting history, especially as it was within the London Colney area that the Romans captured Alban, before taking him to Verulamium (St Albans) for execution.
