Welcome to London Colney, one of the biggest villages in Britain with a population of nearly 10,000 residents. London Colney has a lively and cosmopolitan community, with many groups and activities adding to the richness of village life.

At one time the High Street was one of the main routes to London and its abundance of inns were a popular stopover with coach travellers to and from the Capital. It has an interesting history, especially as it was within the London Colney area that the Romans captured Alban, before taking him to Verulamium (St Albans) for execution.

  • St Albans Parking Consultation

    St Albans City and District Council (SADC) has launched a consultation on parking in the area, published on 8 September. The proposals include the introduction of a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) designed to ensure that parking provision continues to meet the needs of residents, businesses, and visitors.

    A CPZ can include measures such as resident permit parking, additional yellow lines, time limits for bays outside shops, and parking charges. SADC has identified a boundary area showing where current parking pressures are being felt and where the CPZ could have an impact if introduced.

    As part of the consultation, residents are invited to share their views not only on the CPZ proposals but also on Haseldine car park and parking in general. This includes how long vehicles should be allowed to park there and what improvements could be made to benefit all users.

    SADC has explained that a CPZ is being considered to respond to increasing non-resident demand, which makes it harder for local people to park near their homes.

    Alternatively, if you are aware of anyone that would like to share their views on a paper version of the survey, there are some in the parish office, in Caledon Community Centre, Caledon Road, London Colney. The office is maned 9am till 4pm, Monday to Friday.

London Colney Parish Council presents our annual Fireworks event, taking place on Sunday 2nd November 2025.  Join us for our fantastic fireworks display, along with fun fair rides, live music on stage, food stalls and a mobile bar.  

Tickets cost £4 each.

Under 2s are free, but require a ticket.

Should you wish to make an optional donation at the time of booking your tickets, this will be shared between our local Scout and Girl Guide groups.  Tickets are limited and will be sold on a first come first served basis. 

Tickets are non-refundable.

London Colney Parish Council presents this year’s Halloween Party! Join us for this Spook-tacular event on Sunday 26th October from 4pm to 6pm. This event is open to Children aged 3 to 7 years only. Parents are expected to attend with their children.

The Children’s ticket price includes entertainment and a snack box.

Please contact events@londoncolney-pc.gov.uk for any medical dietary requirements.

On arrival you will be asked to sign a photo permission slip.

Family tickets are available for 2 adults and 2 children, priced at £14.00.

Single tickets are available for £4.50 each Child & £3.50 for attending adults.

Tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis until the event is sold out.  Tickets go on sale on Monday 1 September 2025.
